At Pro-Fit Physio and Allied Health we take the time to carefully listen to your specific needs, and work with you to achieve your personal goals.

The Pro-Fit team comprises 16 highly qualified and experienced specialists – seven physiotherapists, five psychologists, a dietitian, an exercise physiologist, a remedial masseur and a personal trainer.

We pride ourselves on being specialised in different areas so we can improve every condition we are faced with, and guarantee our patients the best possible and most evidence based treatments available.

Not in every case, a referral is not necessary. However if you have one, please bring it along so that we can contact the referring doctor if required.

If you have hurt yourself at work and you are covered through a Workers Compensation Scheme you need to present a work cover certificate as well as a referral letter from your doctor.

If you have been involved in a motor car accident you will need a referral from your doctor to state the date of the accident and the type(s) of injuries you have.

If you have been referred under the Medicare scheme (five treatments) you need to have a care plan (EPC) issued by your local doctor.

If you are a (DVA) patient you need a (D904) DVA referral.

Physiotherapy is a form of manual – or “hands on” – therapy used to aid rapid rehabilitation from physical injury and assist post-operative recovery.

It can also be used to maintain the body at its optimum state, with the aim of enhancing performance in sport, speeding up recovery time and preventing re-injury. As such, Pro-Fit regularly works with a number of local professional and amateur athletes.

One of physiotherapy’s lesser known benefits is that it can help eliminate headaches, as well as neck and back pain.

It uses relevant techniques, lubricants and movements according to the client’s needs and response. This leads to the healing process, which begins at the cellular level aiding soft tissues in repairing, restoring functional integrity and adapting back to health.

Remedial massage is particularly popular among sportsmen and women as it can be used to treat a specific injury or be used to maintain the body at its optimum state.
